Stemsnote is a plugin that lives in your insert chain. Share a link, and your client leaves notes on the track — in their browser. You see them in the plugin. Check them off as you work. No app downloads, no email threads, no “around the chorus.”

The low-mids on the verse are muddy vs. the reference — can we ease off around 250 Hz?

How it works
Three steps. No app downloads. No account friction. No translating feedback.
STEP 01

Insert it on a track.

Drop Stemsnote into any track’s insert chain — it sits alongside your EQs and comps. Zero latency. That track is now shareable.

INS 1EQ — Pro-Q 40 dB
INS 2Comp — FabFilter Pro-C0 dB
INS 3StemsnoteON
STEP 02

Share a link.

Every session gets a URL. Send it to your client by text, Slack, or carrier pigeon — they open it in any browser.

STEP 03

Notes land in the plugin.

As the client leaves a note, it appears on the right track inside your DAW. Check it off when done — they see it resolved.

low-mids muddy on the verse
kick is pulling ahead at 1:02
love the outro — no notes
What you get
Every piece of the feedback loop, designed to live exactly where the work is happening.
Per-track notes

Feedback attaches to the track, not a chat thread.

When a client says “the snare feels off,” you don’t have to guess which snare. Stemsnote instances live on individual tracks, and every note is scoped to that insert. Open a plugin, see only that track’s notes. Simple.

  • Each plugin instance = one track’s notes
  • Checkbox list — open notes, resolved notes, nothing more
  • No ambiguity about which element feedback refers to

Threaded comments

Each note has its own conversation.

Click any note to open its thread. Reply, ask clarifying questions, tag a second pair of ears. The whole discussion stays attached to the note — not lost in a chat scroll or email chain.

  • Tap a note to view or add replies
  • @mention collaborators on the session
  • Paste a reference link or bounce directly into a thread

The low-mids on the verse feel thicker than the reference — around 250 Hz?

Yeah that reads cleaner. Good to close.
Session overview

One tab. Every track, every open note.

The Overview tab rolls up every Stemsnote instance in the project. Which tracks have open notes, which are clear, how far each one is from done. A revision round is over when the counts hit zero.

  • Every instanced track, open / resolved counts
  • Progress per track — how far from done
  • Click through from Overview to any track’s inbox

Rhythm Gtr L3 of 425%
Master Bus1 of 10%
Resolved state

Check it off. Both sides see it update.

When a note is handled, check it. Your client sees the strikethrough in their browser instantly — they know the loop is closed without another email. A revision round ends when the count hits zero, not when someone remembers to say so.

  • Single tap to resolve — both sides stay in sync
  • Re-open a thread if something resurfaces
  • Filter the list: open only, resolved only, everything

Lives in your chain

Works where you already work.

Stemsnote is just a plugin — no bridge app, no sync service to install, no background daemon. If your DAW takes VST3, AU, or AAX, you’re done.

Common questions
Short answers. Ask the rest at contact@atekatu.agency.
Do my clients need an account?
No. They open a link, type a name, and leave notes. If you want to lock a session down, add a passcode or invite-only mode from the plugin.
Does Stemsnote affect my audio?
No. The plugin reports zero samples of latency. It doesn't touch the signal — it's a metadata channel that runs alongside your session.
Do I need to install Stemsnote on every track?
Only on the tracks you want to collect feedback on. Most engineers instance it on a handful: lead vocal, bass, drum bus, master. The Overview tab rolls them up automatically.
When is the plugin actually shipping?
Soon. We're in final QA on the DAW integrations and a last pass on the web client.
